Digital wellbeing is not quitting your phone

The useful question is not who has the lowest screen time, but whether technology supports what you value or keeps pulling you away.

Start with interruptions

Ten minutes split into twenty checks can be more tiring than thirty intentional minutes. Disable notifications that do not need immediate attention and check in deliberate batches.

Add helpful friction

Move tempting apps off the home screen, sign out after use, or enable grayscale at night. One extra step creates room to ask why you opened it.

Create an ending

Choose a finish line: one episode, one article, or three replies. Infinite feeds do not make stopping points for you.

Replace before reducing

Prepare an alternative to checking: drink water, look outside, write one line, or breathe slowly. The goal is more choice, not perfect productivity.
